I grew up in Durham, North Carolina, which is only a couple of hours North of Charlotte. Being so near to home, I’m fortunate to be reminded of my dentistry roots that found their place in my heart at a very early age, when I was a sophomore in high school.
I was the girl who always enjoyed going to my dental appointments. A significant reason why I had such great experiences was due to my dentist, Dr. Paula Coffey, and her amazing, professional and friendly staff. She inspired me and sparked my initial passion for dentistry.
After high school, I attended Spelman College in Atlanta, where I graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Biology. I continued my education at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
Upon graduating from UNC Chapel Hill, I had the opportunity to serve at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Baltimore, where I completed my general practice residency. This was a such a rewarding and life-changing experience for me.
Charlotte has been our home since 2008. We love Charlotte and look forward to raising our two daughters in this city!
I fell in love with Charlotte for many reasons. Charlotte is a comprehensive community where you can find diversity from all corners of the United States. The Lake areas ( Mountain Island, Lake Norman and Lake Wylie) are beautiful and provide weekend and weekday getaways for all the residents of Charlotte. The smaller, hometown communities are peaceful and calm, while Uptown provides you with the comfort of the city bustle that I also enjoy. The Charlotte Bobcats and Carolina Panthers are a bonus for the sports fan inside of me. And the new Knights Stadium / Complex will add another wonderful and exciting attraction to Uptown. Charlotte is just my speed and gives me the joy of experiencing all aspects of life.
